Farflame spotted another S.T.A.L.K.E.R. overhaul project at Gamepressure:

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. to be recreated in CryEngine by a fan

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games came to be loved by many for their unique atmosphere and the immersive experience of exploring the mutant-infested post-nuclear zone. However, the series has inevitably grown old, especially visually. That’s why a fan decided to recreate S.T.A.L.K.E.R. in CryEngine. The project known as S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Noises of the Zone has just got a new gameplay video, showing off a fragment apparently taken from the beginning of S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat.

Great engine choice for nature/ruins. Perfect for Stalker.

Looks great. I'd love to see the entire series get a makeover.

I wonder if GSC Game World will allow him to finish it. That's assuming he even has the resources to do a complete remake.

Looks good and seems to be running smoothly. I kept expecting the npcs to jump because he had his gun out. :whew:

I've always preferred Unreal Engine. Cryengine has had a rocky history of demanding so much more cpu power, to run their game. Also wondering why he chose COP, wouldn't have made more since to start with the SOC.

Just watched and ... Damn, it looks impressive. Very nice.
Hope it gets released, even in beta form.
