From the AMA:
"Will pre-ordering with paypal from owlcatgames.com help reach stretch goals? And how about reaching further stretch goals after the kickstarter has officially ended?"
"Yes, it will, and we plan for further stretch goals from pre-orders. Keep in mind that after Kickstarter campaign is over, pre-order prices will change."

Seems like another class, here's the extract from KS update:
They are intimidation, relentlessness, and unwavering conviction. They are the black-gauntleted fist of absolute order. They are the Hellknights!
For far too long the Stolen Lands were the den of thieves and murderers, sanctuary for those who ran from the Law, home of the chaotic and capricious fey, the embodiment of everything Hellknights abhor. They arrive in this lawless land with the important mission, and it will be up to you to decide whether they are friend or foe. Befriend them, prove that you are worthy, that your rule is the lawful one, that your country is the beacon of stability in the region and you will be welcomed into their ranks. Help them complete their mission in the Stolen Lands, and you will be taught secrets and mysteries only a few are privileged to know. Antagonize them, and you will find them to be a powerful and extremely well-organized adversary, vanquish them to seize their relics and discover the truth behind their appearance in the Stolen Lands.
This stretch goal will provide your character with even more options to choose, with unique abilities for Hellknights and Hellknight Signifers and specific items thematic to the Hellknights, as well as new quest line dedicated to the Hellknight presence in the Stolen Lands. Face them on the field of battle or fight side-by-side, it is your choice to make.

Sounds like a archetype for paladins, I don't see a reason to make that its own class.

I assumed it may be a separate class, because wasn't the archetype stretch goal funded at 800K?

Thanks for being a smart ass. I did read it again and my question still stands. They will add 3 archetypes per class with 800k stretch goal. So I don't see why you think it may be archetype.

Hellknights are a Prestige Class in PnP.
Edit:
and of course a Faction
There is a Nation in Pathfinder that has a Pact with Asmodeus, the Ruler in Hell and they have their Chapter Houses there. They travel abroad to enforce Order - and spread the Influence of the Devils as a Sideeffect.
There are various Orders of Hellknights, some are specialised in hunting Monsters - keep in Mind that Devils are no Monsters, they are the Avatars of a perfect orderly Society - others in burning Books or torturing Dissenters.
They are the Guys who hunt down Brigands and put their Heads on Stakes - and put the Heads of Pickpockets and Peasants that don't pay their Taxes right next to them.
Some Rulers invite them in the hope that they help them with Rebels or Monsters or some other Problem, and once they are there they build a powerbase and don't leave again - but they will hunt down the Bandits, they will unbribebable fight the Crimelords, they will remove the pesky Elves that hamper the Logging of the Forest, they will enter Districts where the City Watch fears to enter and will cleanse them with Fire….
Some Hellknights even worship the "Goddess of Paladins" along with Asmodeus, evil Alignment is not required to join them - but it helps; lawful Alignment is required.
If you don't dissent you can have a ok live under the Hellknights, wich is a better Live then a lot of People in Golarion have.

Ok, as a prestige class it makes more sense.

My Problem with Kingmaker is that I don't like a single of the introduced Companions; a Problem that I have with most of modern Games; with the Exception of the Cast of Mask of the Betrayer and Drakensang: River of Time I didn't like a single Companion in a Game in the last 10 Years or so… I will only pledge if they introduce the Option to create your Party Members.
I'm pretty old now, I don't want to waste time with People I don't like anymore; IRL and in Games

I agree Fenris, I played BG1&2 in multi player so I could make every one of my party members. I do not know why companions are so popular. I am trying to replay Dragon Age but the companions are starting to annoy me.

Hehe, yeah, I replayed the BG Series to Death, usually with selfcreated Charas, but in BG 1 and 2 I could create parties that I like from the offered NPCs.
Sometimes I changed their Classes and Alignment (I changed Jaheira regulary to a NG Ranger/Cleric, I imagened a Druid far more distanced then Jaheira, Law of Nature and all that, Jaheira was to soft hearted to be a 2E Druid for me
) but the Companions of BG had Class; Jaheira, Edwyn, Vicionia, Minsc, even Imoen with her broken Dove Shtick was acceptable.
And there were a lot of Charas that were not annoying: Safanna the femme fatale, Garrick the hopeless romantic, Dynaheir the exotic Know-it-all, Kivan the Avenger, Coran and Eldoth, both womanizers, yet so different…
There was no BG Companion that was uninteresting… but there where a few wich I really enjoyed to set up a horrible Demise

Sometimes it's retarded filler added to a game only to prolong it's playtime, sometimes it's so great it feels better than the main story itself.

It doesn't work when the Companions just annoy you… I want to strangle every D:OS Companion at the Moment I met them, I wouldn't travel with the Dragon Age People except of the Dog, I even want to bitch-slap Magnus in Arcanum, and as a Dwarf he should accept this and not leave the Party just because I tell him when he is wrong, and what the Fuck are this Hipster People in POE ?
