Default Grimoire - Released

August 7th, 2017, 23:23
I have to say that I have never paid too much attention to Grimoire's development or its creator's politics and moral code. I had a basic knowlegde of what was going on.

I've been watching some let's play videos on Youtube and I have to say that, except for the turning animations and sound design, I'm pretty impressed and tempted to buy it. The price and bug reports are really disheartening though. The feeling of mystery about it and the search for the first reviews and opinions are feeling quite nice, though.

Now you are starting to see the light. Its this kind of analogy that prompted the Greeks to use the same word for spirit and wind.

Can someone fill me in on the politics, racism, blogs, weird views, etc?

I know as much about his personal life as I do about Sandi Gardiners

Maybe I can google for a blog……
I think you can find a lot just here. Just do a search for threads with Grimoire for a title.

I don't know if we can search based on his account. I think its closed.

I'm not really interested enough to search, but I took the red pill a while ago. I'll could tell you if he's crazy or not.

It seems to me like its almost impossible to have any view on the war in the middle east without coming off racist.

If you're for it you're a muslim hating racist
If you're against it you're a jew hating racist
If you think we should just turn the whole middle east into a giant glass crater then you're a nazi racist

The reality is USA wanted ISIS to take over Syria so they could capture it using the new anti-terrorist laws rather than a real war declaration. Russia got in the way of this.

I'd say having a bomb shelter isn't quite as insane as many would hope it is. It's a very dangerous situation.

I don't know what he said! I'd be interested to hear xD

Let's test it out. You write a post about your feelings on the war and I'll make you out to be a racist. GO!

You know, I think we might already have enough to place you.

I can deduct from the way you quoted a massive block from the post above that it wasn't actually to be clear which post you were replying to, but to save what I said, so I can't delete it, to use against me later.

This would imply that you are opposed to the truth about Syria, which would show you subscribe to the mainstream narrative on the subject, which will naturally place you as a muslim hating racist. QED.

Agreed. If nothing else, I'm interested due to the amount of discussion it has generated over the weekend. A sizable article with impressions would be intriguing, as I find it difficult to encounter one without some form of bias.

I see the Grimoire thread has gone in some interesting new batshit directions.

So, just went to the Grimoire steam forums, top post:
So, about the dev…
http://rationalwiki.org/wiki/Vault-Co
You might want to read this before giving any money or attention to him.
The first thing it says is
Blakemore claims, among other things, that "God produced the Flood to counter the genetic miscreants produced by the union of Nephilim and human women",
This is from the Bible in Genesis. It's quite a fascinating subject, if you're into theology, mythology, that kinda thing. If you ever watched that show Ancient Aliens its pretty much all based off this. Why were there so many angels? Why did people think heaven was in the sky? Were they simply aliens? Then this ties in to the missing link between humans and primates. Did the aliens breed with apes to make us?
One thing Ancient Aliens brings up often is a (highly questionable) translation of some ancient Sumerian tablets whose writing no one has really decoded to this day, which apparently say man was a genetic modification of apes to be used as slaves to mine gold. Apparently the aliens taught the humans farming and things then packed up and left.

RationalWiki is a re-education camp run by nutty left-wing militant atheists. Yeah, sounds like a great place to get info on Cleve from! (This is mainly directed at the Steam post you saw, not you, of course)

Blakemore believes that the purpose of television is to destroy Western society
He's kind of got a point here. While it's surely not the purpose of a TV, looking back I'm glad my parents only let me watch 1 hour of TV a day. I totally would have just sat there like a vegetable never doing anything productive, otherwise.

Of course, I do quote this out of context.
, starting with the women. Once the women have been worked on, they will be estranged from the men, who will enter into a deluded life of hopeless despair
OMG, he's right! All this feminism and lesbian haircuts and stuff is a real turn off. Give me a woman with long hair in a dress who wants to be a mother over a SJW or I'd prefer to remain married my hopeless despair XD

Over the past few days I've been thinking of an RPG based on Cleve's universe.

Agreed!

Additionally, this thread has everything it needs to establish a new world record, reaching and eventually surpassing, the number of pages than that other one called '11 days to Grimoire release. Yay' (currently has 41 pages).

The good news is that he's fixing bugs and patching the game at an impressive rate.
The bad news is that latest bug fix has killed a lot of saved games:
http://steamcommunity.com/app/650670…7615856043233/
He says he is "99% certain" that this is the last time an update will affect saved games - I hope so, it would be annoying to be 550hrs in and then find your save game stops working…!

I should be interested in reading the first review that's based on actually finishing the game.

What are you talking about. It's cheaper than Pillars of Eternity, Tyranny, Torment Numenera, Divinity OS, Wasteland 2… It's cheaper than Skyrim, Dark Souls, Witcher 3 (obviously). Do you find their price "really disheartening" too? Nope.

By the way Hillary lost guys. Get over it.

You will rot by then. It will be ~6 months before anyone finishes the game given how shockingly huge it is. No one is even past the first region yet.

Hasn't Corwin done a review? He finished it a couple of times, I think?

So, how are you enjoying it so far? Please share the impression with us?
Too much effort required to play. Sounds are too annoying - Every monster just spams it sounds at you non-stop. Too hard to get information about things, such as item descriptions which are entirely absent.edit: item descriptions are not entirely abesnt. Try to find them!

By the way Hillary lost guys. Get over it.
