Since when was 1366×768 a high resolution? Especially when viewed on 30"+ screen you can clearly see that every line that is not straight horizontal or vertical is broken (pixelated might be another word).
Thats possibly the only reason Id want a higher resolution (1900x1200) - to cover the unstraight lines.
And this is the highest resolution I use.
Okay, I've got a relatively "small" 17'' Monitor …
But on the other side - doesn't this mean everything looks much more smaller than before ? Where are the details ?

My TV reports the correct resolution now, too! Before it said 1024x768 @ 75Hz, so I guess it was running at that and scaling whatever resolution I had Windows set up with.
So big thanks for helping out! My PC screen looks better than ever now and I bet that my The Witcher problem is solved, too (or at least alleviated a lot).
I have shifted to 1152x864 in 2006. Not earlier.Resolution is related to the size of the screen. 1152x864 / 17 ~ 58500 pixels per inch. 1366x768 / 32 ~32000 pixels per inch. Relatively speaking you have higher resolution than me.
