However, I vaguely remember a "german" (because "Germany" didn't exist at that point") king or otherwise ruler, of whom it is told that he had had an arrow in his head for some time.
Edit : Found him : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Otto_I…enburg-Stendal

I must admit that I never played Skyrim, because it is too grim for my taste.

Yeah, I found that pretty interesting. It exemplifies how Owlcat likes to make some things hard simply for the sake of being hard.
This kind of spoiled some fun I had when playing the otherwise nice "Monkey Island style" game "The Ghost Pirates Of Vooju Island". Or so it felt to me. (If you want to play a game with a very similar setting like MI, then I can recommend this game to you !)

"We expected the secret ending to be rather easy to reach when you know where to look for it," Alexander Komzolov told me. Rather easy, he says. I don't want to know what a harder version would have looked like. That reminds me of the RTS game called "Z", one of the few ones I really enjoyed (and played at all).; I even beat it !
Later, the developers admitted that it was too hard, because they had balanced the game around on what the developers knew and how they played it. And since they knew that game too well, they made it too hard.
And that impacted the sales figures.
To me, this, and seemingly what happened with Owlcat, is EXACTLY THAT cognitive bias I know from Wikipedia as the Curse of knowledge !
If you look at players' behaviour in forums, you can often very clearly see that this is to be found within min-maxing player groups, and within PvP player groups in MMOs as well ( I saw that ).

Dragon Age and Why It Sucks to Play Cult Favorite Games - Wired
If you’re ever feeling lonely, or like no one reads your tweets (much less responds to them), here’s a suggestion: Ask Twitter if you should play Dragon Age. Soon, you’ll have more friends with opinions than you could ever need or want. Some will swear by Dragon Age: Origins; others will pledge their fealty to Dragon Age: Inquisition. (Dragon Age II seems less well loved, but it still has a solid place in the hearts of many.) People you didn’t even know followed you, or that you’ve never interacted with, will all of a sudden become invested in who you’re romancing. This will solve the problem of your loneliness. But be warned, it will give you a new one: anxiety.Isometric RPGs are Eating Away all of My Gaming Time - Destructoid
I don’t have as much free time in my life now that the school year has started up again. Instead, I’m teaching kids about history or planning on how best to teach kids about history, or coaching kids on how to run faster. Teaching and coaching are time-consuming, ya know? But every once and a while, I do get some downtime to just sit in front of my computer and chill. As I sit down to relax on any given day and look at my recently played games list, it’s easy to notice a pattern: they are all isometric RPGs.The head of Arkane Lyon has Left After Almost 17 Years - VGC
Between Path of Exile, Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous, Diablo II: Resurrected, and Gamedec, there is something within this subgenre for just about anyone. I haven’t spent a ton of time on any single one of these (Path of Exile being an exception), but I did want to take some time and talk about each one a bit.
Capron joined the developer as chief operating officer and production director in January 2005, before also being appointed studio head in April 2019. He stepped down last week, shortly after the launch of the studio’s latest game, the critically acclaimed Deathloop, and seven months after Arkane’s parent company ZeniMax Media was acquired by Microsoft.Bluepoint Games Rumored to Be Working on a Bloodborne Project ?- Gamerant
Colin Moriarty dropped a cryptic tease that Bluepoint Games may be working on a Bloodborne remake. He writes simply on Twitter, "I'm hearing through the grapevine Bluepoint Games may be on a journey to Yharnam." For those who might not have played the game, Yharnam is Bloodborne's setting, a gothic, decrepit metropolis, once swarming with people, now festering with beasts and the sick. After PlayStation's acquisition of Bluepoint, it confirmed its next title is a totally original one, but the latest rumors state that it is working on both a new title as well as another remake.

Hello, and welcome once again to a new Diablo IV Quarterly Update.New Starfield leak shows off two spacesuits
I'm Joe Shely from the Diablo IV team. As a design lead who has been working on this dark, shared, open world action role-playing game from the beginning, I’m honored to continue the vision of Diablo IV as its new Game Director, and I’m humbled to represent the team pouring their hearts into this game.
Like many of you, our team has been reflecting upon recent events. A lot has happened since our last blog and the hard work of practicing the values we aspire to must continue. In parallel with that important work, development of Diablo IV continues too.
Over the past few years, we've assembled a strong team with incredible passion for Diablo IV. You, Diablo’s fans, are a critical part of this team. With the help of your valuable feedback, we've steadily refined and deepened the game experience. We have ways to go, and while much has changed, our commitment to the game is unwavering.

Ofc he likely still earns less now than with the day job, but money isn't everything and you got to set priorities. And as long as you survive with the money…

I hope he's married and his wife makes good money and is willing to support him. That's basically what happened with Vogel.

Dive deep into the world of Dying Light 2 Stay Human in the latest Dying 2 Know More episode, where renowned composer Olivier Derivière (Streets of Rage 4, Vampyr, A Plague Tale: Innocence) details a special custom-built instrument creating extraordinary in-game sounds and shares the inspiration behind Dying Light 2’s main theme, “Run, Jump, Fight”.The Ascent New Patch Available
The following summary covers the key areas we have addressed in this new major Patch update for The Ascent. Is Bandai Namco on the verge of cracking the West? - Gamesindustry.biz
This update is now live and available for The Ascent on Steam (deployed on October 7th). The same patch will also be landing on the Xbox family platforms shortly (Xbox One, Xbox One S, Xbox Series S/X, Microsoft store). Thank you for your patience.
Our team is still continuing to work hard on improving the game and we continue to be very grateful for all the support and feedback from our players.
It's one of Japan's biggest games companies, and responsible for globally recognised brands. And yet Bandai Namco's mission to become a major player in the Western world has been a mixed affair. From the moment it acquired Atari's distribution business and began to establish itself a European presence, the company began signing games and doing some co-publishing deals on Western-developed titles. It's actually 11 years this week since the company published Ninja Theory's excellent Enslaved: Odyssey to the West.Playing ‘Cyberpunk 2077’ How It’s ‘Supposed’ To Be Played Is Lifechanging - Forbes
The problem, of course, is obvious. I am on a computer that costs $3K. This is not the first game to run much better on an expensive machine, and yet the gulf here between not just an ultra PC and PS4/Xbox One, but also the current Series X and PS5 versions, or even a lesser PC, is massive. And what percentage of the playerbase has experienced a game that looks and plays like this? 1%? 0.1%? If that.

I should revisit CP2077 sometime to play it as it's meant to be played… I wonder if the experience hasn't been forever ruined though.

I'm old, so I have enough money to buy whatever but I probably won't upgrade till TES VI comes out. I'll plod along on i7700k/16G ram/and an overclocked GTX 1080. It's good enough for most stuff still. Starfield, if it really grabs me, might change my mind. I last upgraded for The Witcher 3, iirc.

Anyway I never cared about RTX never did it's a gimmick at best. DLSS and the other variants are the future. You can upscale extreme graphics on low settings.
It's a god send with all the current price hikes on gpus.

Wasn't Ultima (don't remember anymore which version) also infamous for having extremely high system requirements ?
