Soundcard?

I would hope the DLX card lets you use no post-processing at all, and just allow the DAC and headphone amp to shine. "Straight wire with gain", and all that.

I can in the Sonic studio turn off all "enhancements" shown. Don't know if it still does some modification, however. Still sounds good.

Can't you just unplug your speaker or headphone and plug em into the mainboard port and see if it sounds different ?

PS: I've spent a lot of time the last couple of weeks evaluating, buying, testing out, configuing, experimenting with the equipement I've got for my PC. Now I just want to play games for a while. DS.
