Default What's with the Planescape trilogy?

I checked in on http://www.planescapetrilogy.com/ and got an animated Flash "Rogue Dao Studios" logo, with a funky sound effect… and nothing else. Anyone hear any news about it?

IIRC, isn't it a mod for NWN or NWN2? I could be just making that up, but I vaguely remember something about it. I've never played Planescape, but given my love of the infinity engine, I probably should.

Yes, it's a Mod.

That's bizarre, Prime J--especially the gasps or whatever in the soundtrack. I haven't seen any news about its being reworked--it wasn't Flash( or this Flash anyway) last time I looked as I recall. I checked a few NWN sites but don't see anything.

Maybe someone else will have a clue.

Apparently the lead guy (Monty) got hired by Obsidian in December … the team said it wouldn't impact release … but it already feels pretty darn delayed …

Walp, since you guys are too lazy, I did some research.

(1) No idea why the home page got changed.
(2) The Rogue Dao forums still exist and are active. They're at [ http://www.planescapetrilogy.com/phpBB2/ ]
(3) Developer updates are being posted.
(4) A posting in February states that the public Purgatorio beta will start March 31, 2008, with absolute certainty, and the game itself will be released on September 12, 2008.
(5) Rogue Dao is hiring (message from March 18.)
(6) The cause for the delay is that they got more ambitious (from Februray):

We're polishing up lots of stuff. We took a look at the Hive Ward in December and we were not satisfied with the Planar visual quality of the hubs. They certainly looked very Planescape, but we wanted them to be quintessentially Planescape.

So folks like Atte Laitenen, Patrick Robinson and Eric Rosendahl and Andrej Bartulovic and Scott Douglas set about creating more urban art assets.

The other component we wanted to revise was the critical path. The original did not involve the Sigil Factions enough in our estimation. So the critical path and companions are undergoing a complete redo.

Thanks for doing the work, Prime J--I'm sifting through it at the moment and will put a Purgatorio update on the news page. I honestly did check a few sites but I forgot all about it---sometimes even I have a life.
