Personally, I would say that I look up to people trying to enlighten the world. People like Stephen Fry or Neil deGrasse Tyson. People who use reason, logic and common sense to further and unite the human race, no regress and divide them like pretty much all of the above mentioned rabble.

Sweden is probably the best example in the world of what kind of giant failure socialism and globalism is. Women are no longer advised to walk alone here, police warns women to wear skirts. Gang rapes has increased with 315% since year 2000, overall crime has sky rocketed, grenade attacks are so common here that i no longer keep track of it.. Jews in Malmö had to flee the city, they were no longer safe (their graveyards desecrated, harassed if they wore traditional Jewish clothing etc).
That does not look like unity to me.
I forgot to mention Dalai Lama btw, who also agrees with this view, that refugees should return to their own countries and build them up again.
I do think we should let in refugees (real ones, not like now where only around 2% are actual refugees according to UNHCR, the rest are just here to demand benefits, commit crimes, or become even more radicalized islamists). But when they are safe they should return to their country to build it up and to go back to their families (the women and kids and parents they left behind). We are not doing these countries any favors at all by bringing men in their 20's to 30's here, they should obviously protect and build up their country instead.
Like anyone who loves different cultures, the idea of multiculturalism (which is BS, the most dominant culture will obviously win) is just sick to me. Countries should have their own nationalism and culture because it's a really beautiful thing, it's a real treat to come and visit and to experience it in another country. China and Japan comes to mind, almost zero multiculturalism, strong borders, strong nationalism, both considered very safe and with a very united, peaceful people.
Poland is another country which seems to be doing really fine (very anti-EU, anti multiculturalism).. While Sweden warns and educate people about the now very common grenade attacks that we see almost on a weekly basis the Poles warns about slippery roads.. Just this morning SÄPO stopped several planned terror attacks here - Merry Christmas Sweden! Globalism is evil, EU is pure evil. Fuck them for what they've done to Europe.
Sorry about the length.

Of course, in my book - there are no fantastic or terrible people.
Funny how things work. Had we not had to sit next to each other we would have just been 2 people who didn’t like each other and never knew each other as I left the company shortly after.
I would have missed out on the love of my life and best friend for the past 21 years.

Well, and here I've been saying for years that Scandinavians are amoung the most enlightened people in the world. Clearly I was mistaken and I apologize for including Sweden in that group.
But hey, Long live the old ways that CENTURIES of wars and misery have proven does NOT work, but in this Trumpian age it is clear that I'm talking to deaf ears, so nevermind.

Statistics proves you wrong, too. Centuries of peace and prosperity in Sweden is coming to an end, no thanks to multiculturalism, extremists and activists in EU and UN and dumb tools who's been voting for it, promoting it ("because otherwise you're racist, because the media says so!").
[Followed by a lot of propaganda and a few poorly hidden Sieg Hiel equivalents as well]Poor little baby couldn't come up with a single argument bohoohohoo.. statistics is not propaganda, personal experiences is not propaganda, and saying you don't like where things are heading is not the same as being a nazi.
You're a stupid tool.

Besides there is no more point trying to enlighten you than there is trying to get a flat-earther to realize how utter foolish and ridiculous it is to argue based on "I don't understand it so it can't be true" (or in your case: "personal experience > centuries of historical evidence to the contrary"). I'm sure that if they were on the market you'd be wearing your blue and yellow "Make Sweden Great Again" cap proudly.

Am I the only nerd enough here to think about not a saint, not a politician, but a game designer? Shigeru Miyamoto, perhaps?
Well, idolization is a concept I highly dislike, but towards Miyamoto-san, I feel much more than a simple respect.

If there's ONE game designer i'd mention it's probably him. I guess i tend to think it might be a bit petty to idolize someone who's basically just a person doing entertainment, but eh, why not.

I don't think idol worship is a very good idea, and our Vurt is providing a little reminder on why it's rather dangerous.

Moderator; you missed a spot
On-topic:
I do think Idolization can be really dangerous too, it's being used far too much in the elections, it has increased tremendously. The US one was especially terrible with many multimillionaire celebrities who participated in propaganda, and for some really odd reason, people are looking up to even when it comes to advice of how to vote(!) Like the Average Joe american would have something in common with Johnny Depp or DeNiro. Yeah right, dream on.. Some of these celebrities even advocated murder and violence, needles to say, not very good.
NPC Zombies do what NPC Zombies do i guess, they just mindlessly follow.

Well, obviously Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. His ability to stand up to everything that is wrong in the world, call out hypocrisy, and challenge people to the point he was not afraid of their anger and the repercussions to himself. Also, he is against idolatry.
I have to be careful not to esteem Paul above Christ. Here's a living paradox of a man - a killer of Christians who ends up writing most of the New Testament. He expounds deeply as why we are not under the Law then goes ahead and circumcises Timothy and even takes a Nazarene Vow as a way of attracting followers. Like Jesus tailored his message to Jewish pastors and farmers, Paul used his education and knowledge of Jewish and Greek customs to tailor his message, pointing out that, like Socrates before him, reason was God's chosen method. He was so passionate, he got himself arrested just to spread the message, and had to be dragged away by his companions just to keep him from getting killed by the mob in Ephesus.
