RPGs have come a long way since then. Not sure there's a big audience for it, what with all the competition.

Pitch kinda gave me a WTH feeling, have to read walls of texts (?), there seemed to be no action via figurines or characters.

Maybe this will come back in another form, like early access or something along those lines.

Probably partially to blame as I completely forgot about this game.
If it does go the Early Access route I'll wait for the full release.

I wished it had been funded but to be honest their campaign was pretty weak. The few updates they provided did little to encourage more supporters. Having said that they said they had a lead on a publisher. Conversely for the game to sell they will need to do more to generate exposure.

The campaign was quite weak, I totally agree with that. I think now after several years of kick starter nirvana, projects really have to show a great deal, not simply "promise" anymore. Too many promises burned backers and now they want to see real status before plunking down cash. Updates need to be fast and furious, loop your supporters in, keep them updated often and you'll likely garner a lot of extra support down the road.

There were successes in this CYOA-meets-RPG sub-genre though:
Joe Dever's Lone Wolf and Warlock of Firetop Mountain were nice little games, and as far as I know, did some modest business as well.
