Serpent in the Staglands sound effects disappeared

Anyone know how to fix this issue or where the .ini file is or something? I'm 20 hours into the campaign and all sound effects have gone, only music plays. I have tried restarting my computer and also reinstalling the game, nothing has worked. Any ideas?
