Default Why do Successful Fantasy RPG Developers Quickly Stop Making Fantasy RPGs?

I've noticed the same thing as the OP. Despite making a lot of attempts, I've never really been able to get into RPGs with futuristic or apocalyptic settings - I don't know why, I just really like the fantasy setting. Most likely the reason many developers shift from fantasy to anything-but-fantasy is a business decision where they predict larger market shares making games in those non-fantasy settings.
