Is it possible to disable the touch pad on my laptop? (i prefer to use mouse). Its often caused my cursor jumping around when accidently triggered by my hands on the compact keypad.

You could disable/uninstall the touchpad driver.

My acer aspire has a key-combo that disables the touchpadd and it stays disabled until someone or something presses that combo again…

For a long time I thought my touchpad was dead untill I started looking into it..

But what kazik said should work no matter what. But that is so obvious so one would think that you already have tried to simply disable the device from the device manager?

I installed the proper touchpad driver and successfully disabled the touchpad through the mouse properties.
