Red Dead Redemption 2 is coming to PC

Wait, 150GB harddrive space?? Crazy, but then I haven't played a AAA game in a while so maybe I'm out of touch.

Uhm, if this requires one hundred fifty GB's of hard drive space, then I'll likely take a "wait until it's on a cheap sale" approach to this product.

Assuming the product is full of cutscenes that kick in while players are mmoing, the disk size required is not odd.
FF15 that has no mmo wanted cca 100Gb and is an eyewcandy with enormous variety of content plus uses hairworks on hundreds of different trashmobs fur, so…
I guess RDR2 has at least double of FF15's hairworks or today's mmos can't go lower.
However… Recommended i7, 12Gb RAM and GTX1060?
Who "optimized" that port? Ubisoft?

… maybe I'll schedule it after Cyberpunk, after being forced to update my PC anyways.

I wouldn't judge the game as unoptimized based on that, and when you look at minimum requirements it's even better. But, we'll have to see how it performs when it comes out.

Intel from 78565345377565786 centuries ago is still not i5. But is i7.
RTX 1060 is a card mainly used to smoothly present certain nVidia's gimmicks like hairworks on 1080/1440p. For all I know, Rockstar has no capable workforce to implement any gameworks in their games thus 1060 is most probably mentioned randomly or they hope it can perform 60FPS on 4K without stutters. But if it can, then the game on PC will look like the blurry console shit original RDR2 from Nintendo Gameboy. For all mmo lovers, here's hope I'm wrong.
16Gb is not standard in PC videogames. 8Gb is still standard and will remain as such most probably till Star Citizen gets released. 16Gb is mentioned usually when the code has a severe memory leak and developer is not capable of fixing it thus more RAM is necessary to prevent CTDs.
Oddly, SSD is not a requirement. I have to assume that Rockstar at least optimized loading times thus HDD should be okay. Or?

In anticipation for RDR2's release in November, I'm watching random videos. And found an amazing one. Apparently players managed to mod the game to allow controling fauna. When they fly the eagle around it's just breathtaking. The world looks amazing.

Pretty cool. The world looks good, yes, but it really shows how well modelled these birds are. That's not something you usually take much notice of.

Wow, Ft. Wallace is REALLY restricted. Even eagles flying into the fort are shot on sight!

Might have been worried about some Assassin scouting their fort with eagle vision.

In Red Dead Redemption 2, your gang's leader forces you to do some questionable things in the name of money … much like the game's developers, come to think of it. Player character Arthur Morgan commits murder, various types of robbery, and most heinous of all … money-lending?One of numerous Rockstar logic videos:
One of your comrades loans money to people, then gets Arthur to rough them up and/or rob their house when they default. Every person tells a sad sob story, and this slowly erodes Arthur's spirit. After seeing the misery he's causing, Arthur becomes so disillusioned that he kicks the money lender out of the camp. Character growth!
This happens regardless of whether you play as a bad cowboy (you commit crimes willingly) or a good cowboy (you commit the exact same crimes, but like, slightly complain about it). Even the most immoral version of Arthur will throw the money lender out of the camp. The message is obvious: Predatory loans are so bad that even a total psychopath knows it. It's a good lesson … rendered totally worthless by the fact that your character is still surrounded by other thieves, killers, and a dude who likes to castrate people.
You and your buddies kill hundreds of people in this game, but there's no scene about their widows grieving by their graves. You never see the passengers on the trains you robbed explain they're having difficulty sleeping because of the trauma. The farmers whose sheep you rustled don't get a monologue about how you've ruined their livelihood. But the folks who borrowed money and couldn't pay it back? That's where the game draws the line.
Remember, kids, you can kill as many people and steal as many sheep as you want, but stay the hell away from investment banking.Spoiler

I decided to purchase this for tomorrow and wait a few months to allow Outer Worlds to bake on patches a bit longer… Really looking forward to RDR2, after all I've heard.

Good news but have to say the required 150GB HD space is mind blogging. Anyway I've given up hope the first game will ever be released on the PC with a proper port.

Again my Daily News "fix" got bombarded with hyping the mediocrity from all the different paid and unpaid shills. Lemme share a few I found useful.

Red Dead Redemption 2 PC mods are already availableHaven't checked what exactly you can mod on your character, but if it's turned into Conan boobs/butt/dick stretcher, hell I'll buy the game only to make screenshots with such mod! Not to mention trolling other players as the game is 60ish bucks worth mmo with cheap, short and irrelevant campaign added as a freebie bonus on it.
