Teaser at Blizzard.com

There's a new teaser at Blizzard.com.

Looks icy, so it might be from Wrath of the Lich King, but I'm hoping(along with other millions) it's Diablo 3. I'm guessing we'll find out more at the WWI on the 28th of June. But it's too secretive to be Wotlk imo. Blizzard never did teasers for already announced games. Just for yet to be announced games.

I almost newsposted this, danutz_plusplus, but I thought I'd wait til there was something more than an icy, neat-looking splash screen. This diablo3 stuff seems to be coming up every week--I'll be glad when they decide to tell everyone one way or the other.

Unless it's related to Starcraft 2 I'm not interested.

Day two of the Teaser.

It's pretty obvious that it's getting serious. And there are high chances it will be Diablo 3.

It's Lich King the runes look like the ones on Frostmourne.

Maybe they will announce a release date for Lich King and announce Diablo 3, we'll see.

They do like to do this for web-site updates as well.

This better be Diablo 3!

Warcraft 1-2-3 were the only blizzards games I have enjoyed - I wouldnt mind seeing fourth. But since that propably isnt happening (ever?) I guess can happily forget the entire company.

Isn't the new Death Knight class supposed to use some new kind of rune magic?

Oh and Zak I'm sure they will not abandon WC.

I believe I could see a face of a crying/shouting man on one of the "pillars" on the right side.

Plus another crying/shouting creature on the left side.

If you look at the fire in Diablo's right hand in the poster of him, Warcraft-guy, and Kerrigan the way his fingers are gripped around it quite clearly make a '3' out of the fireball.

So naturally it can't be D3.

the The WWI Europe website shows three important characters from three Blizzard's games including Diablo. So in the upcoming Blizzard's WWI event we would likely to see important announcement on Diablo series beside the two other games.

We know Blizzard is working WoW expansion and Starcraft 2, and Rob Pardo indirectly confirmed that there will be new game to be announced!

In a question and answer session that concluded this year's GDC Paris, Pardo was asked directly if he could talk more about "the new game" that rumours have strongly suggested will be Diablo 3.

"So you want me to announce the game before our announcement?" he said. "No offense, but I think there's like 300 people here, and I'll be ripped apart by 8000 people there [at the Invitational] if I pre-announce it - but it's going to be really exciting. I think everybody here will be really excited about the announcement."

…numerous tips coming direct us at IncGamers from reliable inside industry sources in the past 24 hours, we now have confirmation from inside sources to say that Diablo 3 WILL be announced on Saturday at WWI Paris 2008.

OK, fill me in. What's so great about Diablo 3?

I played Diablo (or was it Diablo 2?) and thought it was an OK game, sort of like NetHack with better graphics but without the insane amount of detail and the punishing difficulty, but nothing really that special. What did I miss?

I imagine its like divine divinity if you remove most of the quests, dialogue and npcs and then randomly generate the levels and add a number of fancy cutsceens to the top.

Diablo is different game, why compared to DD or approach the game with wholely different rpg preferences or your own bias? However i liked DD, also the awesome Planescape:torment, Fallout, BG, etc and yet i like Diablo too. It has it own problems like repetitive gameplay and such but that's another story for another day. What i liked about Diablo:

a) various characters to choose from with varied skills and different combat styles, b) interesting skill branches c) highly customizable armor and weapon d) the quality of product from Blizzard (the game's contents - music, cinematic, gameplay, interface, etc) e)an excellent action rpg, many diablo-like action rpg tried to be like Diablo but failed f)years of support of Blizzard games (optimization, balancing, security patch, etc). f) And somehow i like the story of the three prime evil and i worship Diablo

As usual for Blizzard's game the graphics look outdated. I like the more realistic and gritty graphics of the first Diablo though, instead of the cartoonish style of Warcraft 3 or WOW. I hate to see the supposely badass Diablo looks like cartoon.

What the …., check out the music on official Diablo 3 website, if the game uses the same atmospheric and creepy music it would be amazing!

Blizzard said Diablo 3 already in development 4 years ago with minimal staff. Even now the game is still in early stage with about 50 staffs. Hopefully they would hire more people and cracking the whip . Hmm, maybe we need to wait two years, and 3 years at most (hopefully) before the release.
