A pretty shallow review - to be honest.
But the game oozes charm and has potential. I'm not sure it's doing enough to advance the genre in any meaningful way - but, for whatever reason, these games are rare and it's nice to see a competent one.
I really like some of the changes though. The "mana" system is interesting - and makes you choose meaningfully in terms of army composition.
I also like that buildings are actually built in the world - rather than on a separate town screen, which I never really liked in HoMM.
It's early days - but I'm pleasantly surprised so far.
