Default Drakensang - Shipping in NA

February 23rd, 2009, 22:40
THQ's ValuSoft doesn't seem to be in a hurry to send out a shipping PR for Drakensang, so Elkston writes in to do it for them - he tells us his copy just arrived via UPS. From our forums, it seems stock is patchy so don't be surprised if you can't find it in-store.
More information.

I'll add my me too here. Mine came in UPS at 11:00 this morning. The workday has been interminable I'm not even sure if that's a word!

Does anyone here know: Is the English version coming out on any of the digital distribution sites like Steam or Direct2Drive? I played the demo over the weekend and would definitely like to buy and download the full version.

@woges I was saying me too in response to Elkston saying he got his game via UPS. It was horrible English, but I'm an American so what can you expect?!

It's not out here for another month; this is the NA release so you've sometime to wait I'm afraid.

I was too cheap to pay for expedited shipping, mine is still somewhere in shipping limbo for probably 3-4 more days I assume, but it's ok, I'm still like in the middle of Persona 4 and trying to play NWN2 OC (with the 2 expansions still unopened)

I'd be happy if that's the case, means for this sort of 'old school' RPG demand surpassed their expectations. Or maybe people like the price (I certainly do).

Mine was supposed to come in last Thursday, but wasn't there, and then later on Thursday it showed as not coming until this week, then I got a call that it was going to be in store on Friday … I took Friday off and had a busy weekend, so didn't get there until today.

I remarked that I was nervous it would have been snatched up in the massive weekend rush … the guy who is the new manager got the joke, but the two other guys had no clue. I said it was a crazy thing called irony. Again only one of them got that …

Is the publisher ashamed of Drakensang and trying to sneak it into stores without anyone noticing? It's weird how no one knows about this game. I asked the lady at the pc game shop to order this game for me and she hadn't a clue as to what I was talking about. She is normally very up to date with the latest releases even with obscure games, but not this one.

Corwin where did you order your copy from? I'm in OZ too, but I haven't been able to find it in any of the local game stores.

Quick question, does anybody know what the DRM is like? Does the game have to be activated online, limited installs, disk in the drive…ect?

Cause if it's anything like Spore then I'll give it a miss.

In germany it was Securom withOUT online activation an NO install limits. Simple DVD checks. It's not the same Securom variation as EA or Take2 used it for their latest releases. I guess that would be the same for the international release.

And don't try to use a nodvd crack. The game works fine… until important quest NPCs start to disappear or you're going to find yourself locked in an ingame arrest cell.

I very much assume so, regarding the low price.

I expect everything from THQ now.
