Yes, I also stumbled upon this just now on the homepage of a Norwegian newspaper. The title is Fallout New Vegas, and it's not related to FO3 at all.

Very interested in hearing about it, especially since Obsidian is involved, so if anyone manages to dig up some more information, I would greatly appreciate it (as would a lot of people around here I suppose).

Isn't Obsidian founded by some guys from Black Isle?
If that's correct the news are great.

Well PH said this:

"It is not a sequel to Fallout 3," Hines said. "It's simply another Fallout game in that universe." It will be the same sort of role-playing game experience seen in Fallout 3, he said.

If that means it's running on the same engine or not I'm unsure.

edit:

MCV confirms that it will be on the same engine.

It's called Fallout New Vegas. Talk about a shitty name. But I'm mildly interested since it's Obsidian. Too bad they lost the Alien rpg.

That is certainly… unexpected.

Maybe we'll see some of the ideas from the 'original' F3.

Maybe they can manage to make dialogue that lasts more then three sentences. I actually don't mind Obsidian, but I don't know… New Vegas? Sounds like we'll see some gambling mini-games… which actually doesn't sound THAT bad compared to lockpick and science minigames from F3.

Hey, gambling mini-games would probably attract extra sales; if you don't like rpg's, play in the casino and think of it as an arcade type game!!

Sounds great. I can't get enough post apocalyptic gaming. Especially role playing.
