…my favorite plant.

Even above the cattail?
I have found myself using the "corn thrower to winter melon progression" more and more recently, so maybe you're on to something there. I need one more unique day plant to be "done". I think I broke the 400 foot mark on my tree last morning. Still nothing new since 100 feet.

Have to agree, Sir Markus, especially when,as dte says, you add the Winter Melon upgrade. One row does devastating damage, though lately I've been using the three-peaters and upgraded repeaters with the torchwood a lot, which is also very effective, but more costly, and with both line-ups it helps to have tallnuts fronted by spikeweed.
My nominee for most under-appreciated unit is the starfruit--very inexpensive, especially in Endless Survival, and five or six in pumpkin shells are almost as effective as the big guns that cost double. Backing them up with kernel-pults or snow peas is the best bang for the buck I've found.
I've given up on the Tree. What's everybody's Endless Survival record? I'm up to 22 flags, and they sent in the red-eyed gigantaurs, which scared me off.

I actually haven't been doing much endless survival (I get more Zen plants from the 10 flag hard survivals), but I topped out at 13 flags so far. My first Red Eye showed up at the end of that run, although I was already doomed when he hit the scene so I didn't get to see what he was made of. The last couple attempts, I decided that I needed to overhaul my strategy to focus on standard plants since the escalating price of upgrades gets painful in a hurry. 22 flags is pretty UBER, Ms magerette.

Thanks, but I still haven't broken into double digits in Vasebreaker, so you hold the title there.
Yeah, the upgrades are killer--that's why I like the starfruit, but after awhile it just doesn't have the pure firepower.
One of the little gems of this game is having constantly to revisit and adjust your game plan, and it does it all without the AI so blatantly and brutally cheating that you want to take a baseball bat to your PC, which is one of the downfalls of most strat games.

Does PvZ have an ending, or is it just endless levels?

What does the Cattail do?I haven't purchased it yet.
During the Survivals I found that 3 rows of Gatling Peas+Torchwood and Winter Mellons can defeat everyone but the diggers who managed to break my defense.

My second favorite is 'Threepeater' (he likes backgammon, reading, and enjoys modern jazz. His favorite number is 5) in combo with the 'Torchwood' But just a heads up I'm pretty sure you lose some of the effectiveness of the 'Threepeater' at the top or bottom rows (I think you lose a pea upward or downward.) I generally like to put a 'Snow Pea' at the top and bottom on those levels, and dig up sunflowers in later levels for threepeaters, generally only in the middle three rows.

The Cattail was really useful and thanks to it I managed to get to 25Flags.
I can't even imagine someone getting past 25 cause the Zombies are simply unbeatable there.

If the miners are still screwing you up and you haven't tried this yet, a few well-placed magnets(which also come in handy against the pogos, the ladders and the football zombies) will rip the picks right out of their hands and then they're weak sisters.

Unless you have the sun and attention to rip the magnet out and replace it very quickly, 2 ain't gonna get it, particularly if you've got footballers and buckets loading it up. You're almost better to let the miners go and let your cattails deal with them, as long as you have enough cattails that they don't get distracted (while they generally take out the nearest enemy, they'll fire on balloon zombies just entering the field even if they're currently being eaten by something).

Yep. I usually have magnets, in shells, all across the third row in, then a tall nut and upgraded spikeweed--these you just have to keep replacing as they get destroyed or protect with cherry bombs etc. Inside these I cram as many cat-tails as you can fit, along with a row of starfruit, etc. But I don't know what combination you'd come up with to get past where I was in Endless--it was just a nonstop blitz, and there's no way to recoup fast enough on the damage the Red-Eyes do.

What's the record for Vasebreaker and Zombie endless?

What's the record for Vasebreaker and Zombie endless? After trying much of the day to beat my records, I have to say I'm stuck at Vasebreaker: 7 and I, Zombie: 8.
