Most games - and I'm thinking console action games aimed at 15 year old boys - try to work that 'blood + swearing + boobs = maturity' angle.

Yeah, imagine that? Teenage boys who are fascinated by blood, swearing, and boobs. What's the world coming to?

Not to play devil's advocate here, but what is so important about maturity anyways? My grandfather would and does say that a grown man/woman playing computer/board games, painting miniatures, or pretending to be a wizard in a P&P RPG is immature and should grow up.
There is of course being too immature. For example: I would never play a Beavis and Butthead game
Still with that said, who cares if there are "Boobies". What about all the nude mods out there for games? Are all these made by 15 year ol' kids? LMAO, I don't think so. A lot of us are immature and proud of it.
@TXA "Pinnacle of what humanity has to offer" In a computer game?
I wouldn't go looking for the pinnacle of anything in a computer game. You'll never find it. You have to look closer for that. Like at your friends, family and great people from history.
Perception is a funny thing. What one person percieves as silly and stupid, others might find it entertaining and fun.

I think what we're all looking for, are things that inspire us, move us, challenge us, evolve us, and so on. These things in ADDITION to "pure" entertainment. These concepts intertwine, and aren't always easy to separate.
Some of us actually believe you can find some of those things in gaming, and that's why those of us who don't believe they exist in games that use immaturity to appeal to their audience, want something more mature.
Naturally, the casual audience will look for, primarily, entertainment in their games - just like I would look for entertainment in something fun that I didn't care deeply about. As such, it's not really important that a game is mature for the majority of gamers.
But let's not forget that maturity can be defined any number of ways, and I feel fairly certain I would disagree with the majority in this - just as I disagree with the majority in most things. Also, even the casual gamer who doesn't invest heavily in gaming will have his limits - and blatant immaturity is likely to turn off even the majority of casuals.
