Disabling Risen's click sound
November 1st, 2009, 04:54
i find the 'click' sound in the UI when switching tabs in the inventory, loading a savegame as too sharp and loud. is there a way to disable this? i tried the various slide-bars in the audio options but none seem to have an effect on this 'click' sound.

You would probably have to Decompress the Sound files, find the sound you didn't like, replace it with either one you like or a blank/no sound file. Same compression type of course i.e. ogg, wav or mp3, possibly the same size file, depends on engine programming, iirc.

Trust me, most of the names I have been called you can't translate in any language…they're not even real words as much as a succession of violent images.

thanks for the idea, Acleacius. i found some tools at Nico Bendlin's site. so i extracted the ui sound files and found the annoying file that i wanted but now i can't compress the mp3 file back to the default format (_xsnd).
if anyone knows about such a tool, please let me know..
