That's what I was referring to. Amazon just emailed me that my shipment will be delayed due to "an unforeseen weather event…"

Today I bought a Korg X50 synth. It's one of my teen-age dreams come true, and now, when all my children have moved out I can afford one. Yay!!!
To those of you who still are cursed with in-house children: There is hope, liberty is no more than up to 20 years away. Yay!
Now I only have to learn how to play it.

Youre gonna love the Kindle, PJ. Me and Tigress both have them, and both are actually registered on her acct so we have one big library that we share.
There are two complaints that i have tho. One being the unfortunate reality that not every book that I'm interested in is on the Kindle. Like all my Warhammer books, that hurts.
Secondly, if you have an Iphone and want to use the Kindle app to read your books on your Iphone as well when out and about (hey it comes in handy when stuck somewhere) there's a problem w/ the sync that will not always bring you to the last place you were in the book on either device. That said, it's a matter of flipping the pages til you hit the right spot. It's just annoying, seems like it's a small issue they shouldve squashed in QC.
otherwise, yeah it's friggen awesome

Cool! That sounds very promising. Thanks for the encouragement!
Now, if those Icelanders would kindly shut down that volcano, so I'd actually *get* the damn thing…

Been debating what console to get, the wii… the 360… ps3… then decided not to, over and over again. The pain will not end until we just decide already. So we settled on the 360.
Acquired:

Fable II
Saints Row II
Lego Indiana JOnes
Where the Wild things are
Lips ( some sing-along/karaoke 360 title, she's down there going nuts on it right now)

The Cure Trilogy concert in Berlin doing Pornography, Bloodflowers, disintegration
Tai Chi excersize thing

Bunch of other stuff, peripherals, camera, Razer DeathAdder mouse..

The candy isnt really cheap at Fry's so i guess no!
It was a pretty good loot haul, but there's already a problem. The mouse.
Razer Deathadder i guess has all kinds of problems w/ Win7, my drivers wont install no matter what I do. The mouse basic plug-n-play works, but I cant crank up the dpi at all which makes the thing worthless. I roll at 2400 DPI or nothing these days, once you go high-dpi you never go back. Anything less feels like slo mo.
I was just replacing a Toshiba X20 gaming mouse that the wheel went bad on, but in hindsight I think it was a mistake. I'm just going to stick w/ that model, it's the best mouse I personally have ever used. And the DPI switch is right on the mouse.

Whaddya know, a spot of volcano trouble wasn't enough to stop UPS from delivering my Kindle, right on time. Can't wait to get it home to put some books on it. The instruction manual isn't *that* fascinating!

Awhile ago my old scanner burned. I had a HP Scanjet 5400 that back in the day was a professional scanner (for about $650) but 8 years have passed since and technology have moved forward. I decided to buy a new scanner and in the same time replace my HP Deskjet 980cxi which also was a professional printer back in the day but is now a very expensive and poor printer.
As replacement I bought a Canon CanoScan 8800f and a Pixma IP4700.

My primary goal with the scanner was "fastest speed" and on that the 8800f really offers. It scans a 300dpi page in 7 seconds! While my old one could take 25-40 seconds, scanning 3-5 pages in the same time make it a lot easier for me to scan and OCR stuff for school and leisure. Also the color depth compared to the old greyish images is amazing. Unfortunately I haven't been able to get the software to work in Windows 7 64-bit so I have to use a program like photoshop to scan.
The goal with the Pixma IP4700 was to reduce the price in ink cartridges and I think I managed to cut the price down to 1/3. That said, the new printer prints as an incredible speed and at an incredible quality compared to my old one even on regular paper! It doesn't have wlan or bluetooth like the more expensive printers have but I am ok with that.
I am very satisfied with both.

Bought myself yesterday one of the cutest RPG-related card games : "Small Heroes" !
The goal is to let groups of "Small Heroes" (there's kind of a well-known web comic with that name out there) battle against one another.
The game's fun, I tried it yesterday, and everything's sooo cute !

glot help me, ive taken the plunge. 2010 toyota Tacoma
Awesome truck tho, having a good time w/ it. All the trouble toyota had has led to some great deals. I'm covered bumper to bumper for 7 years, and lifetime powertrain warranty. The first one cost me a little for 4 extra years, the second one was free thru the dealership for buying thru them. And they threw in a security system.
When the rubber hits the road it's 300 bucks a month for 66 mos - I can handle that.
