Btw, this version of Terra's Theme from FF6 is one of the most beautiful renditions of any computer game music I have ever heard:

Nice. That reminds me that I miss recognizable and catchy melodies in most modern games. Something to hum to.

That brings back some nice memories. I haven't played that game for 10+ years, but I recognized the music instantly.

T&he background music to Divinity II's first "real" village is imho very good in that respect.

The only recent tunes I can remind myself whistling to is Nate's Theme in Uncharted (1:08) and Old Snake in Metal Gear Solid 4. Both have that very simple and recognizable tune.

But they aren't like they used to. Still 20 years later I still whistle on Side-Crawler's Dance, Monster Town and Last Dungeon from Wonderboy 3. That one is one of very few 8bit games I would urge someone to try out.

Monster bash - children's game with zombies and coolest music ever (from Apogee, of course).

I´ve heard Johann Sebastian participated on the soundtrack as well .

I think my favorite computer game tune is this one from Cannon Fodder.
Even though the game contained zero characterization, this track made one really care for its characters. I doubt I´ll ever forget Jools and Jops .
Sorry for the OT.

The longest I have every whistled to a song was to the original Settlers Theme (mid, open in winamp or others; or watch the original Amiga version. I prefer the midi), in an endless loop.

Lol, I was actually going around whistling on that one today… It actually took me awhile to remember what I was whistling on.

Since we are doing the whole nostalgia run, The Turrican II Title Music is one of my favorites when it comes to game music.

Even though I didn't play it very long, I find myself humming the exploration theme from King's Bounty quite often. I also like Ol' Pete from Fallout 3. Hackin' and whackin'.

One of my fave game tunes is the Super Turrican factory level 2 music… starts at 4:19 of this speedrun video. Sonny finds it threatening, but I love it.
A little catchier and another favorite: the windmill theme from Zelda.
Here's another one: the cathedral from Heretic. And here's my favorite Doom music: Refueling base!
And now for something completely different: this beautiful track from The Dig. One of the most beautiful game soundtracks ever, at least for me.

The Fairies' Song of Stonekeep … Don't remember its title … Is it on YouTube already ?

Extremely bad sound quality : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=onfju…om=PL&index=35

Edit : Almost perfect sound quality : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RSs1U…om=PL&index=14

Damn you. I had to let the song play at least half a dozen times before I could move on to something else.

The other thread reminded me of the Wheel of Time music, which was very good.

And since Alrik mentioned Divinity 2, the Divine Divinity soundtrack was sublime. The songs weren't exactly catchy in the hum-along kind of way; instead they had me spellbound so I could barely do anything but listen.

Turrican 2´s soundtrack is completely unfuckwithable, as is the game itself.
Basically each of its numerous songs is a hit!
Here´s a well sounding end stage including the ending theme.
