Doesn't the maker of the Turrican music sell it via audio CDs nowadays ?

The best BGM I've ever heard for console games was from the King's Field RPGs on the Playstation.

Starting area in King's Field.

Starting area in King's Field 2.

I remember playing Spore and hearing this song played in the background. I had to whistle it for almost an hour before I finally remembered what game it belong to.

Squaresoft has always been quite good with music, though I think it has been fading of late. They seem more interested in getting some pop singer to do a song near the end these days. BioWare has always been big on the music, too.

Oh, and the Morrowind and Oblivion theme songs were superb!

So much nostalgia listening to those tracks. Sega also had a vast music track list.
here's 'China Town' from Revenge of Shinobi

I have fond memories of that game, it was one of the first titles I purchased when I got a Sega Genesis.

Lots of catchy tunes on old consoles that I sometimes find myself humming along. Donkey Kong Country, Star Fox, the Zelda games, Mario, Mega Man. Recently started listening to older C64 and Amiga game tunes, which are all kinds of awesome.

Overclocked Remix has remixes of a few old console tunes. Some of them are pretty good.
