Games that worked for me emotionally and not mentioned yet:
Walking Dead (Tell Tale)
Life is Strange
Acting Lessons
Twists of my Life
The last two are sexy games, but don't assume that just because there's porn in them that they can't make you feel other things too.
Also Pillers of Eternity 1 & 2 both contained C&C that was FAR more engaging for me than anything in BG3 so far.

By "sexy" you mean they're explicit porn games, and they're also dating sim/harem games, not RPGs; don't be shy to call things by their name.

This explains a lot about several things, and I'll leave it just at that.

PS: I'm not judging either. Just realizing how A explains B. To me it's fine whatever you have fun with in your private time.

  • Metro 2033, Metro Last Light (Redux editions) - I didn't play Exodus
If you consider Metro 2033 and Last light must-plays, you really need to play Exodus. It's the best in that series by far (imo).

I'm surprised no one has mentioned Days Gone yet. I thought that game did a great job of hitting emotional highs and lows.

I'm seriously thinking about it. :)

Nice. It's in my backlog and probably the next I'll play, unless I do Dark Souls 3 and Shadow of the Erdtree first. I'm looking forward to it.

Fwiw, I wouldn't play Days Gone right after HZD. They're similar in some ways, so you might want to cleanse the palate with something different first.
