Carpe Diem - Interview @ Stratics

Stratics sends word that they've posted an interview with Jon Latham of Persistent Worlds about the company's upcoming MMORPG, Carpe Diem.

Stratics: We can’t wait to get into beta! When should the first beta-testers be receiving their keys?

Jon: The first batch of closed beta keys went out last week and we are getting our first real feedback from hardened MMORPG gamers. It’s really exciting seeing your baby coming to life. Not perfect yet but that is expected in closed and we are removing any bugs now ready for commercial.

Stratics: What makes Carpe Diem stand out from other MMO’s that are also in beta?

Jon: There are many stand out features. We have regiments that march into mounted battle. There is a possession system that allows two of the characters to play as one. There is a story line and a real objective for the gamers to re unite four weapons of legend that have been hidden. However the real stand out feature is the is the human intervention which is forever marshalling the evil Uzziels forces against the gamers. This makes the game innovative and like nothing else on the market.

Carpe Diem: Journal #3 @ RPG Vault

The latest Carpe Diem dev journal is up at MMORPG.com, writing about the back story:
Many centuries ago a war raged across the continent between an alliance of men and the hordes of the Demon prince. The alliance was crushed and the few remaining humans fled westwards to escape annihilation. They fought a desperate rearguard all the way to a small country known as Gilead. In a final bid for survival they formed an alliance with the indigenous race, the beautiful and magical Fey. It was at this stage that the great Fey leader, Shimei of the forest, came to the fore. She discovered the secret of soul possession that allowed a human and a Fey to combine their powers as one fighting unit. Between them they managed to hold back the Demon Prince and his many hordes on the borders of the land. However the Demon Prince grew stronger by the day and it seemed that it would not be long before all was lost and that Gilead would be over run.

Hello, and welcome to this article about Carpe Diem. Today, I want to explain in more detail about the setting of Carpe Diem, and the two Kingdoms of Gilead and Ithalamar. To do that, of course, I need to tell you a little about the races that exist in the game, and what they can do. If anything I say leaves you wanting to know more, please check out the official site.

So let me tell you a little about the three races - Humans, Fey and Dragonbloods.
