SpellForce 2: Demons of the Past - News Roundup

by Couchpotato, 2014-01-24 00:13:12

Well lets start the news a little early today as I have a lot to share. Up first I managed to round up a few reviews and one interview for SpellForce 2: Demons of the Past.

6aming -  2.5/5

Demons of the Past is basically a reskin of an old game – but that’s not to say it lacks for fun and adventure. Although a lot of issues drag the core experience down, there’s still 20+ hours of upgrading and adventuring to be had here, if you can see past its flaws.

Attack On Gaming - 6.5/10

Despite a small number of design flaws and a steep learning curve for new players, SpellForce II: Demons Of The Past is a pretty enjoyable game for players that would like stronger RPG elements in their strategy games. The storyline is engaging and the game is actually a challenge. While the dated engine and visuals may put off newcomers to the series, this sequel is certainly interesting enough to get players to check out the previous entries.

Para Nerds -  5/10

There are still moments when the game comes together, but those are few and far between. I’ve had trouble sticking it through games before, but this one made it increasingly difficult. I had no investment in the story (this is my first SpellForce game, I was not commitment to the characters and often even felt shut out because the game, justifiably so caters to an already established audience).

Pure|News had the great opportunity to interview three important persons that worked on the most recent title of the SpellForce franchise, SpellForce 2: Demons of the Past.

After our recent review of the game, we asked Nordic Games to have a deep conversation with the people that worked on the title to know more about the game’s behind the scenes development and to more possibly know more about the future of the franchise itself in the upcoming years. ( In which we actually did get some awesome answers!)

As I’ve mentioned this interview will feature not one but three persons, so take a look below at the list so you can easily identify who is who in the interview!
