Alien RPG - Not Game Over Man? [Updated]

by Woges, 2009-06-16 22:22:49

Sega, say at Joystiq, that they will have news on the revival? of the Aliens RPG.

The big, green gooey eggs containing Sega's long in development Aliens: Colonial Marines and Aliens RPG are going to hatch -- just not soon. When we asked why the games were absent from this year's E3, Sega replied, "Aliens vs. Predator will be the first to ship out of our triplet of Aliens titles; hence it was shown at this year's E3. We'll have more news to share about the other two games in the near future so stay tuned." Rumors of both titles being jettisoned out an airlock have been swirling since earlier this year.

Update:  Destructoid responds that there are already two more Aliens games in development, which would might leave Alien RPG still out in the cold:

Is this rudderless guesswork on the part of excitable writers, or do they have a real reason to believe Obsidian -- the studio currently hard at work on Alpha Protocol -- is resurrecting the roleplaying Xenomorph title? I am skeptical that Aliens RPG is still in the works, but have contacted Sega and Obsidian for comment. It seems very strange that Aliens RPG would be the third title if we already know of three games in the works.

For the record, there's Aliens vs Predator, then Aliens: Colonel Marines and the Destructoid thinks the third might be Aliens: Colonel Marines for the DS, which has also been called Aliens vs Marines
