If the combat were just a touch more dynamic, Hand of Fate 2 would be essential. As it stands, it’s still a great sequel and perfect for anyone wanting the thrills of an RPG without feeling loss. Defiant constantly prod players into the unknown and the results are always fun and rewarding.

I enjoyed HoF 1 for what it was, but not sure I would be interested in playing such a similar game again unless it was in the bargain bin.

Not sure that more dynamism would solve the issue with combat.

Combat does not hold players accountable for their decisions. It does not take much skill to compensate a known as poor decision by performing well in combat.

Devs took decisions to make the product accessible to more players.
As a result, at the moment, it is more a content browser than something else. Collecting all tokens etc... Once it is performed, there is no cause to keep playing.
