D&D Lords of Waterdeep - Released

Digital board game can be fun, but it depends on the game. If it's a game of negotiation or social deduction, then that's not going to work so well as a computer game because it's just not the same against even a good AI. But many excellent board games don't have as much direct player interaction, but rather have people interact by changing the board condition in more subtle ways. A digital game can be great for that, as there aren't as many social elements to miss out on, and it lets you really explore the strategy elements. The low price tag and lack of setup time are a big plus too. But there has to be a good AI to play against, otherwise it's pointless.

Some of the best games to play digital versions of, at least for me, are co-op games. You can just play all of the parts yourself and you don't have to worry about AI. Many co-op games work out to just one or two players with the most experience helping everyone else make their decisions anyway, so it's not such a big shift to just one person playing.
