Arkane Studios - Acquired by Zenimax

We live in strange times really. When Arx Fatalis was released in 2002, it was a nice alternative to Morrowind. Now, Arcane is under the Bethesda's wings. Also, ex-Black Isle staff are making a new Fallout game under Bethesda. Action RPG Dungeon Siege 3 is being made by ex-Black Isle Obsidian under the wings of famous JRPG (?) developer Square. Leonard Boyarsky, the man behind Fallout, Arcanum is now working on the story and quest aspects of Diablo 3. Tim Cain is working on MMORPGs, while Brian Fago is making hack slash games and D.W.Bradley, Richard Garriot is nowhere to be found. Strange times indeed.

Also, I want to add that once my favourite RPG developer Bioware is now making action games and can easily classify their games as 'RPG' without any shame.

Seems the most likely option. Arkane bought/ transferred the trademark from JoWood last year.

Don't think this has been linked to on here before: There's a short interview with Harvey "Witchboy" Smith and Raph Colantonio on Gamasutra where they talk about the acquisition and share the info that the project they are working on is a combo of Underworld, Half-Life and Deus Ex.
