Tales of Symphonia - Major Updates

The first reviews critisized Tales of Symphonia for its poor technical state - Korea Portal reports that some of the major bugs are fixed now:

The website makes it sound like that Steam is responsible for the port or at least its repairs. I don't think that can be the case, can it? Otherwise it seems like a press release from developers trying to do lots of damage control.
