Sigh…
Truth is: not many titles to actually deserve the RPG name, so people like to inflate those lists with games that have RPG elements in it, but do not actually qualify as RPG's…
RPGwatch does exactly the same thing amusingly enough. You wont have to look too hard to find stuff like X-Com and Bioshock to name but a few in RPGwatch GOTY lists.
For a site which appears on the surface to be extremely specialist and niche in what it wants to highlight and people it wants to attract, you'd be surprised how remarkably similar the site is to the ones we laugh at in threads like this.
Usual story, completely ignore most indies, jRPGs, diablo clones etc while religiously promoting whichever AAA or AAA-aspiring console-oriented back-watching game regardless of it's relevance or quality.
Hence this year it'll be easy to predict, as there's only two games which fit that bill this year:
The Outer Worlds
Greedfall
To which Disco Elysium will get the "I play indies as well you know" novelty vote and Outward will get a decent amount of remainders.
Stuff like Legends of Amberland, Children of Morta, Queen's Wish, Druidstone will bring up the rear with extremely minor percentage votes.
I can absolutely assure you, if RPGwatch allowed the new Star Wars game into the voting then that would end up in the top 3... AAA or AAA-aspiring console-oriented back-watching game WITH STAR WARS.
