What a nice surprise. Ubisoft is remaking the first Splinter Cell using The Division's game engine. I loved the original Splinter Cell, and would like a replay.

But more interestingly, I wonder what their future plans are. Are they remaking this as a test run or something? I'd love it if they remade at least the main trilogy (up to Chaos Theory). Those are the great ones.
But what about a new Splinter Cell? Time will tell, I guess.
EDIT: Actually, I need to temper my excitement. I just realized that Ubisoft is also remaking the Prince of Persia: Sands of Time, and that one is looking pretty horrible. So I wouldn't put it past Ubisoft to hand over this remake to some amateur newly acquired/established studio and then to do a shit job again.
