If you still just had to try and see what happens, don't worry, there is no permadamage, just crash (and potentially reboot).
The cause of crash is a script that bugs the address bar with too much of characters and a few browsers, thankfully not all, don't know how to deal with it.

people who use Safari on iPhone and iPad, the site causes an immediate partial reboot of the phone. On the desktop, Safari instead seems to merely hang, leaving you watching a pinwheel for a while. Chrome for Windows, Mac, iOS, and Android all crash, though they don’t take the operating system down with them.
