While there's no harf-harf villains just being evil for the sake of it (there was in Drakensang: TDE, but not so much in TRoT), it does get awfully two-dimensional at the end.
I guess most RPGs present the "big bad evil" at some point. Up to now, the story looks pretty much down to earth to me.
Anyway, I still enjoy the game very much, even if I progress very slowly. I like the relatively relaxed atmosphere. I guess a "real roleplayer" would chide me for leaving Ardo lie around and do other things than rush to his immediate relief, but what the heck.
