It was long coming but I finally found my own after year of search. The apartment was in the official lists less than a day. I bought it instantly because other people were allready rushing to make offers.

Its bigger and better than my current rent-apartment but it costs less in month(!) to payback the loan. It was quite a find. I couldnt be more happy. Cheers to all the other home-owners out there.

wow, congratulations.. hope our discussions in the other thread had something to do with it. You're not going to regret that for sure! Especially with the high costs you had before.

O, yeah don't break it partying before you've moved in LOL... ( I know some about "finnish" ( not a typo :D ) parties..... )

Thanks! Yes those discussions were in my mind. I still might have to pay up to 2000€ before I can get rid of this current apartment, but Im allready prepared for it so its nothing.

Yeah well Im a bit partying allready. The apartment even has heated bathroom floor. It has everything I ever wanted so its perfect. But Ill try to limit it..gotta work tomorrow ;)

Congrats! :D That's so cool... just be careful with the floor heating, will ya? Sleeping on the floor might cause a serious headache. Believe me, I'm the headache specialist.

The last expensive thing I bought was a solar system (and no, I don't mean one with planets and stuff... more like a solar PV roofing system). Yet I have no house to put it on, so I 'll have to put it on somebody else's house. That's twisted, isn't it?

Are apartments the norm there, rather than a full house?

OK, you've got me Jaz…why did you buy a PV system without a house to put it on?
Well, I'll just put it on my in-laws' house. We happen to live there, and everybody needs the PV system. Still twisted, but, hey.

I've been in this house for 2 years now, seems like yesterday that I first moved in here to my first house. It's a little more expensive, but so worth it. I've always had noisy, annoying, and unbalanced neighbors in apartments - just not having to listen to anyone elses's bullshit thru the walls is worth the price of admission alone!

congrats!

Congrats with the appartment. What I immediately noticed was the sauna, a common thing in northern Europe. Here in Belgium you can only find it in a spa center or in the houses of the richer people.

Last year in August, we moved to our house and are still pretty happy with it. Perhaps I should take some pictures of it how it is right now, cause here are just pics of the rebuilding :)

Congratulations.

From pibbur who has to hire mr. Minde to replace the wooden planks covering two of the outside walls this summer, and paint the rest of 'em.

Thanks for the grats all.
Nice pics… Where do you live? It looks cold. :)

I live in central Finland. Its cold and wet here most of the year. Looking at your pics so do you? :)

They build only apartments so yes thats the norm. If you want house you build new or rebuild som 50 year old house. Its very expensive to have house because of heating, taxes and lack of choices.

Depends on how the house is built. I have lived in apartment where I could hear even the drip of coffee machine from neighbour. In this new apartment though its so silent I can see the cars go by yet hear nothing. The only sound I can hear is the one from water heating. Silent humming. And thats the sound of best heating.

I live in Michigan, US. It's pretty cold here for about half the year, and is really only warm for about 4 months. I grew up in Florida though, where it's quite hot for 7-8 months most years.
