I must admit that every 4 or 5 years I buy an NFL game (Madden due to the monopoly). I've been getting that itch so I went to EA sports' website to see what kind of features to expect in the up coming iteration. Thats when I noticed this. Apparently EA, in it's wisdom, deemed it necessary to further defile the old BioWare by naming their sports engine the Infinity Engine.
I'm trying to make sense of this without vilifying EA but there is no reason for it. Infinity engine? They were honestly out of names? I hope it's just a coincidence but it really feels like EA is farting in the general direction of BioWare's legacy -- similar to naming their digital store Origin.
