The article says that an australian child changed her vblood type after she got a liver transplanted.

The article states that this is the first case of this ever known.

Well, why not? I have a rare blood type, would be easier to replace it with the ordinary stuff in case of an emergency.

There is a significant risk of graft-versus-host reactions, where your new immune system arttacks the cells in your body.

I think her age and most likely the long term effects of the drugs she received prior to the transplant and after it played a part. Very interesting effect for sure.
