Post a Picture of Yourself!

@Kordanor - a very very careful technique
@Ripper - maybe but degree of difficulty would be extreme
@lostforever @ GG - that assumes far more language skills than I have! I speak Oz and a little bit of American only

Was part of an amazing trip though!

Aubrielle, why that shy smile though? :)

Haha, sorry, I didn't even see this comment.

Hmm…shy smile? *ponders* I think it's because it's hard for me to smile in pictures and have them look good. :) I'm not exactly photogenic…^.^;;

Here is me out for a ~19 mile run (~36km) on Father's Day morning (last Sunday). My normal daily run is ~10.5 miles (~17km).

Well. I promised (don't remember if I promised you or myself) to post a new picture after turning 60. So, approaching 62 (3 months), here are a couple of pictures.

This is your's truly:

This is (another) self portrait:

And this is the cat:

Regarding the drawing. When I do these self portraits, I don't look in the mirror or at a photo. Which means that there are bound to be mistakes, but I don't aim to draw an accurate picture. I can do that if I want to, but usually that's not what interests me. Instead I try to explore my inner imagination of myself at the time.

This is not the finished drawing, I'll make another one. But it is the last sketch I'll make before the final image. I need to check a couple of details, and I want to make it technically a bit cleaner.

BTW: The yellow tint is an artifact in the photograph, but I like it and I may include some color in the finished product. I may also experiment with it afterwards, using charcoal, making a painting, maybe even an aquarelle, which I'm notoriously bad at. We'll see. Maybe you'll see as well, but no promises.

pibbur who now expects you to say that he doesn't look like he's close to 62. But not that he looks like he's older!!!!

I look forward to your Self Portrait of a Cat phase, which may owe a debt to Mr Dali.

I like the sketch, and I hope we see the finished work. The sketch reminds me an artist that used that angular style and free lines of a sketch in his painting. Can't think of the name.

Haha, great picture. And I am not exactly sure why, but somehow with your looks in mind your "signatures" (like the one I quoted) shine in an even brighter light. :)
