And as for Candy Crush - several people I know playing it are actually quite mature. I've got relatives in their 50s who are completely hooked, despite never having been "gamers" in the past.

Well, I have nothing against candy crush It is very good for the swedish economy, but I don't think it is something that should be discuss on a forum such as RPGWatch… well maybe a little but at least not extensively!
About the Codex:
As on every board you need a few months to learn the preferences and opinions of the regular posters, so you can classify and judge them better.
Most discussions in the RPG subforum are in-depth and interesting.
Stay away from 'General Discussion' and everything is fine
I'm not judging the posters, I'm judging the content.
Then again, I have this theory about Codexian being another way of saying stuck-in-early-teens.
Sounds different
If you know people for a longer time you get a better understanding what they are trying to say on a board. Contrary to face to face communication you don't have the facial expressions and many posters are not native speakers.
The language is often not so exact as in their native language would be.
On RPGWatch I can often even predicting what someone will write before it's written, so good I know most of you
So what am I going to write next ?

All I'm saying is:
If you are longer on a board you know the 'internet persons' on a board better and understand their opinions, arguments, language and online behavior [their content & context] better. At least I can do that.
PS:
To know the Codexians you have to be some time at the Codex. Felipe Pepe for example is also a Codexer. His CRPG book initiative is very interesting and remarkable. He posts here, too.
Then why do you not simply agree?I got it the first time.
You're not listening. Please do me the favor and read what I'm writing.
Then why do you not simply agree?
That's something you say often to others.
Believe me I'm always listening and can read, write and speak English very well.
Maybe you should try to show some empathy and try to understand others better before attacking them in endless threads. First think then write, less text is better.
So wait … You started PC gaming when you were 5?
