I get a new top of the line laptop every 3 years (the latest is about 1 year old), so I don't see these requirements as very demanding.

As someone who upgrades pretty regularly I must be out of touch with what the average person has for a gaming pc as the 5850 doesn't seem very beefy. What do most of you have then?

Hope this doesn't sound snobbish that's not my intention just surprised that on a forum that seems to focus on pc gaming that a 5850 would seem high end.

It's a DX11 card from a very recent series, that seems pretty beefy to me. I would guess the vast majority of PC gamers have something from an earlier series. The nVidia equivalent is a 470 which is a very high-end card if you ask me considering most people probably still use an 8800 or something in the 200 series.

In any case I have a GTX 480, so it's not like I am personally worried. I just know I paid $400 for this card like 18 months ago and I don't like seeing it on recommended requirements lists already.
