Fable 2 - No Plans for PC Version

Except you might be using tricks that are unavailable to a PC. But these tricks may not be necessary for the PC version; however, it could have been worked deep into the engine for all I know. I'm not a game engine developer.

You don't have to be an engine developer to make wild assumptions ;)

In any case - I see absolutely no reason why Fable 3 can be converted and Fable 2 can't - based on having played both of them.

Is there some kind of theoretical technical obstacle, like a magic Xbox 360 trick using secret powers unobtainable on a modern PC? Maybe.

Let's just say I doubt that :)

That may have been true back in the days of the Amiga, where chipsets were highly specialised and tailored for unique platforms. But I'm pretty sure developers are aware of the advantage of NOT using such hardware (if it was there), even on an exclusive - today.

If I was a PC player, I would rather have Fable 2.
Played Fable 3 thought it was total trash compared to F2.

Well, the thing has limited resources and you want to make your game look as good as you can, don't you? :) It has happened on all previous consoles as far as I know! Plus, these things use custom hardware, I'd think you'd want to use those custom features. :)

I believe that many games are being developed on the PC platform, and then compiled to be runnable on the xbox …

Yeah, using a cross-compiler most likely, which does not mean that they can run on PC. Except maybe in an emulator. I don't know, I don't have an Xbox 360 SDK. :)

Thaurin - you REALLY don't want Fable 2 to be able to run on PC, do you? ;)
