Erm… The point #7 is due to not thinking about sidequest audience, but "balancing" the major plot so it tends to get easy when a player takes a stroll frequently.
I don't think they'll change that ever - while completionists won't be amazed, mainstream reviewers who fastrun the main story will always praise such sad design.
Everything else have to agree with you. Especially point #9. RNG is cheap.
