Seems it is a known issue with the latest steam update. Luckily the beta should fix it, will try it tonight:

As far as I can see problems started appearing right after they added in-steam configuration support for xbox and generic controllers.

Edit: Hmm, seems samsung TVs will ship with steam link capabilities. How cool is that Unfortunately I have a panasonic TV (and already bought the steam link device)

That is cool! I hope my TV gets an update and gets this feature.
