The story variety is also extremely repetitive and not very engaging.

First up: One of your companions in the tutorial section turns out to be a traitor. Ooo, plot twist.

then: You discover that one of the important NPCs in the tavern is important because they were a big ol' traitor.

then: You do a companion quest for a rogue where they are trying to root out a traitor in their ranks.

then: The NPC who's job it is to safeguard the city is convinced that some NPCs who you benefit from recruiting are traitors, this interplay is the core narrative of this quest.

then: The NPC from the tavern reveals himself as a traitor yet again as the finale to act 1.

then: You do another companion quest, this time for a cleric, where the crux of his problem is that someone he knew was, in fact, a traitor.

then: You do another companion quest, this time looking for a ring, and, low and behold, the problem was that one of their friends was... a traitor.

I mean, really.

And people play this game... for the story? The story beats are about as interesting and varied as the combat encounters...
