So I thought I would make a "Two Worlds" thread. A lot has already been discussed and people here are definitely aware of this game, but perhaps there's more to say?

I hope this game will be, what Oblivion should have been, though it might be the same. And we still have some months for Reality Pump to convince us to buy it. Or at least they've got me convinced.

Didn't they announce this game is now strictly an MMO? Too bad, it looked like it had potential. I guess I'll have to look elsewhere for my SP fix.

*NO* - the single player game is still there, as shown in the videos. What happened is that they announced that the multiplayer will be MMO-ish ... perhaps like Guild Wars. I think that the real concern I'm hearing (and having) is that it is difficult imagining a sustained development of quality SP & MMO experiences!

I will just post this information from other news comments here on RPGWatch:

1. The Multiplayer consists of multiple servers distributed across the whole world. Joining a Server, you will launch in a city and talk with other gamers. Up to 8 players can group and solve quests together. This is valid for both PC and the Xbox 360 users.

2. Currently PC and Xbox 360 Owners cannot play together. It *can* be that in the future Windows Vista and Xbox 360 Users can join together in one game via Xbox Live.

3. You will not have to pay a monthly fee, not on PC and not on the Xbox 360.

and this quote from Moriendor:

"Reality Pump used to have (or still has) a multiplayer system called EarthNet for the Earth 21xx games and KnightShift that allowed up to 65K players per server and 8 players per match. I would assume that a buffed up version of that network will be used for the MMO mode."

Because of above mentioned I have confidence in Reality Pump, because they have the former experience. It wouldn't have been possible for Blizzard either to have created the succesful WoW without the experience from their Battle.net network.

That will be cool if they pull it off. It is definitely going to be interesting to see how it turns out.
 
Well, the soundtrack is actually what I fear the most for. Here's the background information:

"For Two Worlds ZuxxeZ has not engaged the Studio "Spot" from Cracow, instead they hired the Grammy-Winner Harold Faltermeyer. Harold is known from his Soundtrack for movies like Top Gun or Beverly Hills Cop.
His mix of gothic sounds and orchestral rock ballads are going to cast a spell over the players and deliver a punch to an already engaging storyline."

Rock ballads in a medieval/fantasy RPG? The music from the motion capture video is really poor too and it sounds very rock'ish. But perhaps something good has come out of Oblivion afterall, because the Jeremy Soule soundtrack is really good and might be used in Two Worlds if it is possible.

hehe Cool to know that harold is still in business. Axel.F is legendary :p. I don't know really if its a good thing thats he is connected to project! At the same sounds intresting and very freaky!

The wilderness Looks a lot like Oblivion, doesn't it? I guess that we're stuck with this kind of trend, what with SpeedTree and technology like that. What I found interesting is that the dialogue with NPC's seems to be handled like in the Gothic series, with different camera angles and stuff.
