Article Roundup as usual the quality varies.

GameRant, ScreenRant, and TheGamer are owned by the same company, and seems to pay anyone to write articles for clicks. Bascisally modern tabloid gaming sites.

Still good for read but don't take them seriously.

Interesting article.

But yes, we have a similar problem with German language. "Hexe" = "Witch" is feminine. "Hexer" as a masculine does exist as a word, but is very much absent from "traditional" German-language fantasy literature, as far as I know.

Because witches are traditionally bound to be feminine, and masculinism is so much against men adopting that, the "Hexer" remains to be 2the odd man out", so to say.

The opposite goes with the word "mage" or "magician, the masculine form "Zauberer" is so much more often to be found than the feminine form of that, which would be "Zauberin".

Interestingly, "magician" is mainly meant o be "head work" -> intelligence in (A)D&D ,
meanwhile "witching" is more meant to be into the direction of emotions -> Sorceror -> charisma in (A)D&D.

In Genshin Impact, the English version is "mage" for female magic users, not "witch" !
The German-language translattion, however, uses "Hexe" again.

Sir Terry Pratchett wrote a very good novel on that, with the title of "Equal Rites".

I think I'll put my reply into the language thread, too.

Annihilation Instinct, the first paid DLC for Mundfish's Atomic Heart, is now available for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5 and PC. It continues the story of P-3, as it were, by venturing to the Mendeleev Complex and introducing a new "enemy" in NORA. Players must traverse the limited new areas to fix in-game malfunctions. You may think there's more to the core premise, but that's more or less it, wrapped in a fetch quest with few new enemy types, two weapons and a boss. It's not terrible, but on top of highlighting some of the flaws with the game's structure - from the writing to the combat - Annihilation Instinct doesn't provide all that much bang for your buck.Check out our review of the DLC to learn more.

There's no point in dancing around the obvious. The spotlight of August 2023 is firmly set on Baldur's Gate 3. With an avalanche of tantalizing content poised to descend upon gamers, carving out space for other video games may pose a challenge. Still, several hidden treasures have boldly chosen to share the month with the mighty Larian title, and I stand ready to guide you toward those that, in my opinion, are not to be missed.

Flint Dille is a screenwriter, game designer, author, and producer with a resume you won't believe. He's worked extensively with George Gygax at TSR (Sagard the Barbarian), but he's probably better known for his work on classic 80s cartoons like GI Joe and Transformers. His game credits include writing and designing for nearly 47 projects, Double Switch, Chronicles of Riddick, Diablo III, and Uncharted. On top of all that, he's written great books on video games. Did I mention Garbage Pail Kids? If you were a kid in the 80s, Flint has undoubtedly worked on something you loved!

I did the survey. It seems to me that they're planning another party-based RPG, and probably with the same ruleset.

I notice they didn't ask about party-size though which is a little disappointing. I'd love a game like Solasta but with a larger party.
You could have mentioned that at the end of the survey - there was a comment section at the end.

For sure. That would be one of things I would like in BG3 as well i.e. 5 members or even 6. I am guessing in playtesting it just didn't work well.

Well it's been what six, maybe seven years since their failed Kickstarter? At this point in time I have no hope they will release anything, but will be surprised if they do
