Well after thinking for a while you could play as a decedent of Ciri. It would allow you to customize your own character. As for story it could be based in The Nilfgaardian Empire.

There is a problems though. Not a huge one but still... If it's not supposed to be a Witcher 4, what will they base the game on? Ask Sapkowski to write a new story or make one up themselves?
