What's worse is that there's a second hurricane (Jose) also currently in the Atlantic, and it's travelling a similar path behind Irma. It was just upgraded to a category 4.
Areas that were already devastated by Irma might get hit again just days later.
I trust all are safe or have prospects of safety from such terrible things.
At the risk of creating an argument, many of the climate change models have predicted larger hurricanes/cyclones/typhoons etc. basically because hotter means more energy which means bigger storms. Our bureau of meteorology issues seasonal wRnings in early October and prior years have commented on higher ocean temperatures and increased cyclone ris.
Now it's back to category 4.
