Hi there!I didn't want my "G3 experience" be ruined by an arsenal of bugs and issues... (sheesh, sound like some teenage girl that's saving herself for the right man
)
Or is G3 still as unplayable as most people claim it to be?
First let me just say.... lmfao where did you grow up? I'll try to avoid those ladies...
In regard to the patches... yes they make a big difference... but whether they're enough for you or not is really a matter for personal expectations, tolerance and a bit of luck.
If you're unlucky like me, your game will crash a lot (at least once every other gaming session assuming you play for several hours non-stop). However, according to the poll on my other thread... most people only experience up to or around 5 crashes throughout their entire first run through the game (or around 10 at the most, but that's assuming most the people who participated in the poll hadn't yet beat the game).
Also, you have to ask yourself how patient you are and what you expect in terms of stability and solid gameplay. I would wager that the game will never be 100% stable (which rarely occurs anyway in game... most are at least a little unstable). I should note from personal experience, that aside from one particularly annoying quest thats not a part of the main storyline (it is optional), the game content itself seems to be very stable. There are a few minor excepts (you can read about some of them by

In my opinion, the game is stable enough with all the current patches to enjoy the game. I think Gothic 3 is one of the best RPG games ever made (top 10), but I probably wouldn't say it is as good as Gothic or Gothic 2 (more of a personal preference I think).
I'd say the most common complain you might have is the occasional lag or video glitches. If you're anything like me then the quests that you never intend to complete remaining indefinitely in your quest book might annoy you but that's very minor. I suggest unless your expectations are unrealistic in the sense that you anticipate and flawless and 100% bug free game, then it is time to install it and start playing! It's a great experience and you'll have lots of fun.
P.S. What are your computer specs? That might be useful in determining the likelihood of gameplay issues. Actual content, however, is fairly bug free (with about an average number of exceptions).
